Parks

Pelican Beach Park — probably the city’s most complete beach park. It has beach access, pavilions, grills, restrooms, showers, volleyball courts and a large parking area.

Hightower Beach Park — more nature-focused, with over 18 acres, 2,800 feet of beachfront, a 560-foot boardwalk, wildlife-viewing areas, picnic areas, restrooms and showers.

DeSoto Park / Frank P. Catino Park — around 499 DeSoto Parkway. Good for walking, playground use, sports and occasional manatee viewing in the canal during cooler weather.

Satellite Beach Sports & Recreation Park — 750 Jamaica Boulevard. Includes a playground and sports facilities; the same complex contains the city’s Skate/BMX Park and E. Lorraine Gott Dog Park.

Cinnamon Park — 534 Cinnamon Drive. A smaller neighborhood playground rather than a large destination park.

Samsons Island Nature Park — a particularly interesting one: a restored natural island in the Indian River Lagoon with picnic areas and native vegetation. It’s accessible only by water, although the city offers free monthly eco-tours with boat transportation. Shell Street Beach — smaller oceanfront park/access with parking, covered picnic areas and restrooms.

Crotty Park — approximately 1.5 acres with paved and unpaved parking, but no facilities.

E. Lorraine Gott Dog Park — 750 Jamaica Boulevard. A 1½-acre fenced off-leash park with separate small-dog area, dog wash, water, picnic tables and benches. Registration/vaccination requirements apply.

Satellite Beach Skate/BMX Park — also at 750 Jamaica Boulevard. Free skate park; BMX use is restricted to designated times.
